Hourglass is designed to stay out of your way. There are no accounts, no servers storing your data, and no tracking of who you are.

Export or delete your data any time from Profile.

Everything you enter — your income, your purchases, your reflections — lives only on this device, in your browser's local storage. If you delete the app or clear site data, that information is gone.

We don't sell, share, or transmit your financial information. The app does not contact any backend to compute your hourly rate or purchase costs; the math runs entirely on your device.

If crash reporting is enabled in a future build, it captures only technical error details (stack traces, anonymized session info). We actively scrub fields like salary, bonus, purchase amounts, and notes before anything leaves your device.

Hourglass is a reflective tool. It is not financial, tax, or investment advice. Numbers shown — true hourly rate, time costs, annual summaries — are estimates based on the information you provide and simplified assumptions about U.S. taxes.

Your data, your call

You can export everything to a JSON file or import a backup at any time from the Profile screen. You can also reset all data from the same place.
